Some 21 years ago, the founder of GTO designed the Mighty Mule electronic gate opener. While on his property, he realized what a hassle it was to have to open and close each of his gates.

Electronic gates were already being sold by other companies, but their price was exorbitant, so GTO's founder went about developing a more affordable version which could be used to open gates that are in remote locations.

Not long later, the Mighty Mule® E-Z Gate® brand of gate openers was launched. Nowadays, GTO distribute the Mighty Mule right across America.

In 2007 Gallagher commenced distributing the Mighty Mule in Australia and New Zealand. It has proven to be very popular with sales greatly exceeding expectations.
